N.E.A.T Program

N = Network with public high school students to identify high achieving under privileged students with college ambitions who are interested in building up their personal resumes by participating in the CAI college “prep” program. These identified students are also candidates for leadership roles in a Community Student Volunteer Youth Chapter whose volunteer endeavors will help to increase the amount of individual financial aid awards from admitting colleges.

E = Educate public high school students and community audiences about the college admissions and financial aid processes. These educational presentations are rendered online, in classrooms, and Town Hall type public meetings. This education provides guidance, hope, encouragement and enthusiasm to participating students

A = Assist students and parents in their efforts to obtain college admissions as well as college financial aid

T = Transition enroll approved students into our College Funding Solutions (CFS) college prep program. Volunteer assistance and mentoring is available throughout student's high school and college tenure

SOS volunteers are responsible for implementing and following up with the above noted community activities.

Sigma Omega Sigma (SOS) Student Volunteer Chapter

It is our goal to establish 5 new SOS chapters in each of the remaining Hendricks County High School communities. Each Chapter will enroll 10 Qualified Vetted High School Freshmen Students who are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers. A Community Liaison will directly oversee student volunteer activities (similar to a scoutmaster). Starting with the graduation of the first 10 Chapter volunteers, this format will enable each Chapter to graduate 10 “College Ready” students each year.
